Cold Baklava
Cold Baklava known as Soguk Baklava is created from layers of phyllo dough that are filled with a combination of chopped nuts and sweetened syrup. Walnuts or pistachios are often the nuts used in soguk baklava, while lemon or orange peel is frequently added to flavor the syrup.
Soguk Baklava is served cold, unlike some other varieties, giving it a cool and pleasing texture. The phyllo dough is delicate and crunchy, and the nut filling is savory and rich. Each mouthful has a hint of sweetness and wetness thanks to the syrup.
Turkey’s national dessert, soguk baklava, is a favorite and is frequently offered at festivals and other events. It may be taken as a sweet treat on its own or combined with other foods.
